Manor Cottage - Boreham

An extension to a residential property within the conservation area to form a self contained open plan living accommodation. Completion date - December 2003.

The client's requirements were for a simple building form having a contemporary interior design. Rather than simply continuing the style of the existing property, we chose to draw from the established vernacular style present locally within the area, and to produce a stand alone structure which would complement the existing building. The use of a timber frame enabled a one and half storey structure to be achieved whilst remaining sub-servient to the main house.
